Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi President of Cihan University-Erbil Receives Exchange Students Departing for Poland
On Tuesday, 29/09/2026, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, received a delegation of students and their families ahead of their departure for Poland to complete an academic course.
The reception was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Abdulsttar Abdulkarim, Vice President for Administrative and Student Affairs, along with Heads of relevant Academic Departments.
During the session, Professor Dr. Al-Delawi congratulated the three newly selected candidates departing for the Warsaw University of Life Sciences within the specialized disciplines of Nutrition and Dietetics, Biomedical Sciences, and Medical Microbiology. He noted that their selection from nearly 6,000 university students was based on English language proficiency, communication competencies, and technical skills.
He urged the students to represent Cihan University-Erbil, the Kurdistan Region, and Iraq with distinction, uphold cultural values, and utilize this academic milestone to advance their professional qualifications and pursue future postgraduate studies (Master’s and Ph.D.). Furthermore, he instructed them to maintain continuous coordination with the Kurdistan Regional Government Representative, the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Warsaw, and their respective department heads.
The gathering also welcomed back the seven students who successfully completed their academic term for the (2025-2026) academic year at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences and the University of Lodz.
Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi commended their academic achievements and encouraged them to transfer their institutional knowledge to their peers.
Currently, Cihan University-Erbil maintains formal Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with 9 Polish universities, enabling over 80 students to complete academic courses in Poland, with active negotiations underway to establish Master’s degree pathways for graduates.
