Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, Sends Another Group of Students to Poland
In an unceasing effort to elevate international academic standards of education, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, has sent a new group of students to Poland to complete a study course. This initiative is part of the university’s strategic vision to implement international higher education standards and to enable students for the global labor market.
On Monday, September 22, 2025, during a meeting with the students and their families, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, the university president, emphasized the importance of this project, stating: “Cihan University-Erbil is committed to providing an advanced academic environment that prepares its students for a bright future. Sending our students to Poland is part of our policy to raise their academic level and provide them with international opportunities.”
Bologna System and Opening Doors to Europe
Professor Al-Delawi noted that Cihan University-Erbil has been pioneer in Iraq in implementing the Bologna Process, which has opened wide doors for students to pursue their studies in European universities without any obstacles. He added: “Formerly, several groups of our students have successfully completed their study courses at Polish universities, which is evidence of the compatibility of our university’s programs and curriculum with European Union standards.”
Selection Process and Recommendations
This new group consists of seven students from various departments of the university. They were selected through a rigorous process based on the university’s academic criteria, in cooperation with the University of Lodz and the University of Warsaw in Poland; they were chosen among more than 5,600 Cihan University-Erbil students. This is a great source of pride for their parents, and it is important that they uphold this trust.
Addressing the students, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, emphasized their responsibility to represent Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, Cihan University-Erbil, and their families. He advised them to adhere to academic and ethical values and to seize this golden opportunity to advance their academic level, as this experience will open wide doors for future higher education and provide significant benefits in the areas of communication and general awareness. The university president also offered several academic and ethical guidelines to the students and asked the heads of the scientific departments to remain in continuous contact with the students to answer their questions.
In the final part of his speech, the President of Cihan University-Erbil discussed the expansion of the university’s scientific connections and its academic status at the international, regional, and Iraqi levels. He emphasized that they have practically proven that Cihan University-Erbil is an international university with an international vision and strategy. Over the past 17 years, the university’s graduates have successfully obtained master’s and doctoral degrees from numerous international universities and have returned to work in various sectors and fields.
