Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University–Erbil, Sends Four Students to the Czech Republic for a Scientific Training Course
As part of its strategic mission to strengthen international cooperation and promote scientific and cultural exchange, Cihan University–Erbil has sent four outstanding students from its scientific departments to Palacký University Olomouc in the Czech Republic. The students will participate in a specialized professional training course focusing on Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE).
On Thursday, January 29, 2026, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University–Erbil, held an official meeting with the nominated students and their families to offer academic guidance and farewell recommendations. During the session, he congratulated the students, emphasizing that this initiative represents more than a scientific trip; it is a gateway for students to transcend local boundaries and engage with global academic standards.
‘‘This experience will instill profound confidence in our students regarding the high-quality education they receive at Cihan University–Erbil. By studying in a European environment, you will witness firsthand that the Bologna Process we implement is fully aligned with international academic standards,” stated the President.
Addressing the ethical and representational dimensions of the mission, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi emphasized that the four students serve as “Scientific Ambassadors” for Cihan University in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq. He urged them to prioritize upholding their social, religious, and moral values while respecting the culture of the host country. “Upon your return, it is crucial to transfer the skills and knowledge you gain to your peers. Each of you acts as a representative for a hundred other students in the dissemination of knowledge,” he added.
The President further expressed his gratitude to the families for their unwavering trust in Cihan University–Erbil, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to providing comprehensive financial and moral support. He noted that such international exposure serves as a catalyst for students to pursue postgraduate studies (Master’s and PhD) and enhances their competitiveness in the global labor market.
This training program is a direct outcome of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in late 2024 between Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi and Prof. MUDr. Martin Procházka, Rector of Palacký University Olomouc. The opportunity was officially announced to the student body last November.
At the end of the meeting, the students and their families expressed their sincere appreciation to the university presidency and staff for creating such transformative opportunities, which enable students to sharpen their professional skills and gain invaluable international experience.
