Radiological Imaging Students Conduct Health Awareness Visit to Vanas High School for Girls
On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, fourth-stage students from the Department of Radiological Imaging Technology at Cihan University–Erbil conducted a field visit to Vanas High School for Girls in Erbil, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Noor Sami Omar.
During the visit, the students presented information on the importance of radiological imaging in the early detection of breast cancer. The session highlighted risk factors, the value of early diagnosis, and its role in improving recovery outcomes. The students also demonstrated basic self-examination techniques in a simplified and age-appropriate manner for the high school students.
The activity included an interactive discussion session that encouraged dialogue between the university and school students. Questions related to women’s health, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle practices were addressed, helping to deepen understanding and engagement. Various awareness activities were also held to make the learning experience more practical and memorable.
At the end of the visit, Ms. Raman Azaddin Omar, Principal of Vanas High School for Girls, expressed her gratitude to Cihan University–Erbil, stating:
‘Raising health awareness among students is an important step toward building a well-informed generation capable of protecting themselves and their community. We truly value this constructive collaboration with Cihan University–Erbil.’
Participants also provided positive feedback, praising the department’s efforts in promoting health education and fostering community engagement through meaningful scientific and awareness activities.
