Radiological Imaging Technologies Department Students Received their Practical Lectures at Erbil International Hospital
On Wednesday, September 25th, 2024, third-stage students from the Radiological Imaging Technologies Department at Cihan University-Erbil, under the supervision of their department head (Assistant Lecturer Omar Adil Muhammed), attended their practical classes at Erbil International Hospital.
The students practiced on an X-ray device in that hospital setting to gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge in the field of Radiology. This experience is crucial for their professional development and future careers as radiographers.
At first, they were welcomed by Mr. Navid Abdul Karimi, a specialist in radiography. He later provided descriptions of X-ray equipment and a brief overview of its components while they observed the X-ray device techniques in groups. Furthermore, he explained the X-ray tube where X-rays are produced and the collimator that controls the size and shape of the X-ray beam. Finally, he talked about the importance of the image receptor, which includes capturing the X-ray image, and the grid, which helps reduce scatter radiation and improve image quality.
