Students from the Department of Biomedical Sciences Conducted an Academic Visit to Anatomy Laboratory at Howler Medical University
First-stage students from the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Cihan University–Erbil conducted an educational visit to the Anatomy Laboratory at the College of Medicine, Hawler Medical University on Monday 15th December 2025, as part of their practical and academic enrichment activities.
The visit was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Merza Hamza Homady and aimed to enhance students’ understanding of human anatomy through direct exposure to a professional academic laboratory environment. The students were warmly received by Dr. Dhahir Tahir, who welcomed the group and provided an overview of the Anatomy Laboratory and its role in medical education and clinical training.
During the visit, students were introduced to the anatomy laboratory facilities and equipment, including preserved anatomical specimens, models, and teaching tools used to study human body structures. Detailed explanations were given on the methods of specimen preparation, preservation techniques, and the ethical standards followed in anatomy education. Emphasis was placed on how anatomical knowledge forms the foundation for clinical diagnosis, surgical procedures, and medical decision-making.
Dr. Merza Hamza Homady thanked the College of Medicine at Howler Medical University and stated that the visit was highly beneficial, as it introduced students to foundational anatomy knowledge, lecture structures, and module styles, while clarifying the integration of theoretical teaching with practical laboratory sessions.
