Students from the Department of Computer Science Gain Practical Insights into Telecom Network Operations
On Monday, October 13th, 2025, demonstrating the Computer Science Department’s commitment to practical learning, a delegation of third-year students undertook a successful and inspiring scientific visit to Korek Telecom, a leading company in the telecommunications sector. The visit was supervised and guided by Laboratory Assistant Ms. Tanik Perot Hamza.
The highlight of the visit was a detailed presentation delivered by Mr. Omar Abulkhaliq, who discussed the critical operational and managerial aspects of the telecom network. He explained how the Linux operating system and advanced storage systems serve as essential pillars for ensuring superior performance, continuous reliability, and robust security for the company’s large-scale network. He further elaborated on the diverse tasks and responsibilities of System Administrators, emphasizing that this role extends beyond mere technical maintenance.
Mr. Abulkhaliq highlighted that the position requires in-depth technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous learning to keep pace with rapid technological advancements.
