Students from the Department of Law at Cihan University-Erbil Visited a Law Firm in Erbil

On Monday, January 20, 2025, a group of students from the Law Department organized an educational visit to the office of the Lawyer Counselor Mohammed Asa’ad Hamawandy, a prominent lawyer based in Erbil. Supervised by Assistant Lecturer Saman Hassan Ali, this visit aimed to gain insights into actual legal work and acquire practical skills.

During the visit, Lawyer Counselor Mohammed explained the various tasks he performs, such as preparing legal memoranda, representing clients before the courts, and practicing negotiation and legal drafting skills. Additionally, they were given the opportunity to ask questions and exchange opinions on the challenges lawyers face in their daily work and how to benefit from academic study in the practical field.

Assistant Lecturer Saman emphasized the significance of this visit in connecting theoretical knowledge with practical skills. According to him, such experiences help enhance students’ understanding of their legal responsibilities and increase their professional awareness. The students were pleased with the experience gained, expressing their desire to attend more field activities that would better prepare them for their careers after graduation.
