Students from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics Presented a Seminar at King Private School 2 on Healthy Eating Habits
On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, a group of third-year students from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Cihan University-Erbil delivered an insightful seminar at King Private School 2. The students were warmly welcomed by Miss. Shna Ahmed, the school supervisor. The seminar, conducted under the supervision of Lecturer Tanya Salam, the department head, focused on the importance of healthy eating habits and balanced nutrition for students and young individuals.
The session aimed to educate school students on the fundamentals of a nutritious diet, including the role of macronutrients and micronutrients, the importance of hydration, and the impact of processed foods on overall health. The students engaged the audience with interactive discussions, real-life examples, and practical tips on maintaining a healthy and well-balanced diet.
During the seminar, the presenters emphasized the importance of consuming fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins while limiting the intake of excessive sugars, unhealthy fats, and artificial additives. They also highlighted how proper nutrition can enhance energy levels, boost cognitive function, and support long-term well-being.
