Students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences Participate in the Arab Judo Championship

On October 19, 2025, the Judo Championship for Arab national teams and clubs commenced at the Rozy Tourist Complex in Shaqlawa, with the participation of eight Arab national teams: Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Kuwait, Qatar, Syria, Jordan, and Yemen.

In this championship, which is scheduled to continue until October 22, 2025, a group of second- and third-year students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Cihan University-Erbil participated in several matches on Sunday, October 19, 2025, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Ahmad Saeed and Assistant Lecturer Mohammed Salahuddin.

The championship matches took place in a competitive atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and strong sportsmanship. The students gained valuable insights into the organization of international championships and the management of sports competitions according to global standards, particularly in the areas of training, refereeing, and sports management while also learning about the requirements of the local and Arab sports arenas. This experience allowed the students to engage practically with the championship matches.

The Arab Judo Championship for national teams and clubs was organized by the Central Judo Federation in coordination with the Erbil Judo Federation.
