Students from the Media Department Get an Inside Look at Speda TV

Aspiring journalists from Cihan University-Erbil’s Media Department got a firsthand look at the inner workings of a television station during a visit to Speda TV on Thursday, February 20, 2025. Led by Assistant Lecturer Ahmad Jamal Hama Karim, the student group toured the Erbil-based channel, gaining valuable insights into the media industry.

The students were welcomed by Abdulkareem Ahamad Speda TV’s Administrative Director, Mr. Rebwar Andazyar, who provided an overview of the channel’s history and management. He then guided the students through the studios and newsroom, offering a behind-the-scenes perspective on television production.

The tour allowed students to explore both the news and program studios, observing the process of show creation and learning about the equipment used in broadcasting. In the newsroom, they witnessed how news stories are prepared for broadcast and engaged in discussions with Speda TV staff.

Mr. Abdulkarim Ahmad, Director General of Speda TV, also met with the students, expressing the channel’s commitment to supporting the next generation of journalists. He encouraged students pursuing media careers to remain actively involved in the field and highlighted the availability of summer internships at Speda TV.

The Cihan University-Erbil students expressed their gratitude for the opportunity, noting that the visit provided a valuable real-world experience and a deeper understanding of the television industry.
