Students of Department of Media Visit Rudaw Satellite Channel
On Wednesday 3/11/2021, the Department of Media organized a scientific visit for the students of the fourth stage, accompanied by one of the department’s lecturers, Dr. Goran Sabah Ghafour, to the Rudaw satellite channel.
The students were received by officials of the news department, the department of preparing special press reports, and the department of relations in Rudaw TV.The head of the news department, Mr. Beston Nouri, explained for the students the sections of the newsroom, the mechanism of work in each part of the newsroom, and what were the steps involved in producing news. After that, the students asked a set of questions that the newsroom workers answered.
Later, the official of the Special Reports Department, Mr. Barzan Muhammad, gave a full explanation to the students about how to prepare the reports. At the end of his speech, the students asked many questions that enriched their media information.
During the visit, the students, accompanied by the Director of Relations, Ms. Nama, briefed the students on Rudaw departments.During the presence of the students in the studio, they asked the director and program producer a series of questions about Rudaw Channel, where the students gained through the answers a lot of important information on the practical side.
The students also visited other sections of the channel, such as the archive, the transmission section, the control section, the communications section, and the radio studio, and learned how to work in each of these sections.
The official of the channel’s technology department, Mr. Fahim, also gave a brief explanation to the students regarding the channel’s techniques. A scientific dialogue and discussion took place between the students and the technical department official, where he explained for them the importance of technology in television work.
It is worth noting that Cihan University – Erbil seeks to support and encourage such scientific visits as they achieve scientific benefit for students through their knowledge of the fields in the work place.
