Students of Translation Department, Conduct a Scientific Trip to Erbil Citadel

The Department of Translation at Cihan University – Erbil organized a scientific trip for second-year students to the historic Erbil Citadel on October 28, 2025, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Faridun Rasouli.

During the visit, the students toured various museums and cultural centers inside the Citadel, including the Erbil Citadel Museum and the Kurdish Textile Museum, where they observed valuable historical artifacts and traditional Kurdish crafts. The students learned about the ancient civilization and cultural legacy that shaped the identity of Erbil, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities.

As part of the trip’s academic activity, the students introduced Cihan University – Erbil in general and Translation Department, in particular, to local and foreign visitors, explaining the department’s goals, programs, and its important role in promoting multilingual communication and cultural understanding. This interactive engagement allowed the students to practice translation and communication skills in both English and Kurdish within an authentic context.
