On October 28, 2025, students from Translation Department at Cihan University-Erbil led a charitable initiative to support needy children in public schools in Erbil.
With hearts filled with warmth and kindness, students from Translation Department at Cihan University-Erbil carried out a charitable act. They visited Sasan Elementary School for Boys and provided winter clothes to their needy students (grades 1-9). This donation is part of Cihan University-Erbil’s strategy to engage with civil society sectors to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The activity included collecting donations from students and distributing winter clothing to needy children ahead of the winter season, demonstrating the students’ commitment to empathy, community engagement, and social responsibility.
This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to civic values and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly
Goal 1: No Poverty,
Goal 4: Quality Education, and
Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities.
Through these community projects, Cihan University-Erbil continues to foster a culture of compassion, volunteerism, and global awareness among its students.
The school’s principal, Mr. Raheel Khalil Ibrahim, warmly welcomed the university delegation, expressing his appreciation for the students’ generous contribution. The Head of Translation Department shared organizing and supervising the initiative with A.L. Narmeen Abu Bakr Ali who supervised the trip and accompanied the students to the aforesaid school.
