The 7th Scientific Conference for Outstanding Graduation Projects at Cihan University–Erbil Continues to Highlight Innovative Media Research at Scientific Conference
The 7th Scientific Conference for Outstanding Graduation Projects at Cihan University–Erbil highlighted groundbreaking and innovative media research during its second session held today. This session, which was part of the two-day conference that began on Sunday, provided a platform for students to present their insightful projects to faculty and peers. Chaired by Assistant Lecturer Azwar Mehdi Qasim Agha, with Assistant Lecturer Omer Hasan Fahmi serving as co-chair, the Media Session featured three compelling research endeavors.
The session opened with a study titled “The Role of Social Marketing and Perceived Social Norms in Shaping Individual Behavior Change in Erbil – Kurdistan.” Conducted by students Fatima Hikmat Omer Mahdi, Fatima Muhammed Sami Mahdi, and Ronida Khalid Moustafa Taha, and supervised by Assistant Lecturer Azwar Mehdi Qasim Agha, the research explored the significant impact of social marketing strategies and societal expectations on individual behavior within the Erbil region.
The second presentation featured a documentary film, “History of Muqaisar Castle.” This project, a collaborative effort by students Ahlam Aouni Mohammed Abdulkarem, Dlpak Smail Khedr Mahmud, and Hedi Ali Abdulla Mahmod, under the guidance of Assistant Lecturer Ahmad Jamal Hama, documented and examined the rich historical narrative, architectural significance, and cultural importance of Muqaisar Castle.
Concluding the session was the presentation of another documentary film, “Witness to the Age: The Holdings of the Erbil Education Museum Tell Their Stories.” Prepared by students Bilal Mohammed Salim Fadaam, Nemir Mohanad Mohammed Jarallah, and Yousif Anas Faris Salih, and supervised by Assistant Lecturer Omar Hasan Fahmi, this film offered a compelling exploration of the historical value of the artifacts and exhibits housed within the Erbil Education Museum.
The Media Session culminated in an engaging and interactive open discussion, allowing students and presenters to exchange valuable feedback, diverse perspectives, and insightful questions regarding the research content and findings. This vibrant exchange underscored the conference’s commitment to fostering intellectual discourse and enriching the academic experience.
