The Department of Accounting Organized a Scientific Visit to Hayat Company – Pepsi Erbil Factory
On Sunday, October 12, 2025, the Department of Accounting organized a scientific visit for a group of third- and fourth-year students to Hayat Company – Pepsi Erbil Factory, under the supervision of Lecturer Hashim Mohammed Khair Safi.
Upon arrival the students were warmly received by Mr. Mahmoud Mohammed Amin, a member of the company’s Board of Directors, who accompanied the students on a tour of the Financial Administration Department.
During the tour, Ms. Sara Adnan Anwar, the Financial Manager, provided a comprehensive explanation of the factory’s operations, covering production and marketing activities. She elaborated on the recording of daily accounting transactions related to production, purchasing, and sales, as well as the pricing mechanism and the estimation of direct and indirect costs. Furthermore, she explained how to prepare accounting records for operating revenues and expenses and how to implement an internal financial control system to ensure accuracy and prevent errors or manipulation.
In another part of her presentation, she discussed the management of debtor and creditor accounts, including the organization of supplier and customer accounts. She also highlighted the company’s reliance on modern accounting software to monitor inventory movements and link financial processes with production and distribution. Additionally, she described how periodic financial reports and statements are prepared to support management decisions and analyze the company’s financial performance.
At the end of the visit, the students had the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarifications regarding accounting, administrative, and production aspects. They received comprehensive and informative answers to their inquiries, which enriched their understanding of practical accounting applications within an industrial setting.
