The Department of Accounting Organizes Field Visit to OPTIMUM Group in Erbil

On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, the Head of the Accounting Department at Cihan University–Erbil, under the supervision of Lecturer Rebin Bilal Mohammed, organized a scientific visit for second-year students to the OPTIMUM Group in Erbil.

Upon their arrival, the delegation was warmly received by Mr. Ardal Ayranci, Operations Manager at OPTIMUM Group. Mr. Ayranci began by giving a brief overview of the company, explaining that OPTIMUM Group is an international oilfield services provider operating across the Middle East and North Africa. The company offers a range of services, including oil and gas well drilling, project management, and other specialized operations.

Following the introduction, Mr. Ayranci guided the students on a tour of the company’s facilities, where they gained first-hand insight into its core operations and its vital role in providing oilfield services—particularly in areas such as well operations, exploration, completion, and project management. He then delivered an informative session on accounting practices in the oil and gas industry, focusing on cost accounting, activity cost calculation, and cost-type analysis within the sector. He also discussed the preparation of financial and production reports, as well as the processes involved in financial, production, and extraction planning. In addition, he provided valuable clarifications on cost analysis, budgeting, and financial planning.

At the end of the visit, Lecturer Rebin Bilal Mohammed expressed his sincere appreciation to Mr. Ardal Ayranci for his warm reception and for sharing his professional expertise with the Accounting Department students. He emphasized that the session was highly beneficial in broadening the students’ understanding and deepening their knowledge, particularly in the field of industrial accounting.
