The Department of International Relations Organized a Visit to the Kurdistan Parliamentary Union
On the 9th of November 2023, the Department of International Relations organized an educational excursion to the Kurdistan Parliamentary Union for fourth-stage students. Assistant Lecturer Rashid Mikhail Muhammad expertly oversaw the visit, aiming to provide students with a firsthand understanding of the political dynamics within the region.
Upon arrival, Assistant Lecturer Rashid Mikhail Muhammad and the students were received by Mr. Karim Bahri, the Union’s deputy.
Mr. Karim Bahri provided the students with a comprehensive introduction to the various departments within the union. Following this, the students had the opportunity to explore the VIP hall. During this insightful session, Mr. Bahri elaborated on the functioning and collaborative efforts of the Kurdistan Parliamentarians Union, emphasizing its role as an advisory body dedicated to offering counsel to pertinent institutions.
Mr. Karim Bahri emphasized that the paramount responsibility of parliamentarians involves the formulation of legislation, diligent oversight of government operations, and conducting thorough investigations. In terms of electoral processes, he expressed the viewpoint that open elections are more favorable compared to closed elections.
In conclusion, the students and their supervisor expressed gratitude to Mr. Karim Bahri for his gracious hospitality and the insightful information generously shared with the students.
