The Department of Media Students Deliver a Series of Presentations on Social Networking Platforms Across Several Schools in the Permam District

Through collaborative efforts and partnership between the Media Department’s leadership at Cihan University – Erbil and the Permam branch of the Kurdish Arts and Literature Association, students from the Media Department conducted a series of lectures focusing on media and social media.

On Thursday, February 15, 2024, students from the fourth stage of the Media Department, including Karwan Masoud and Nali Omar, with assistance from student Sarwin Muhammad Amin, organized three seminars for students from three secondary schools Sarbhen, Ainalinda, and Kamiar  in the Permam district.

At the beginning of each seminar, the students presented a concise introduction to Cihan University – Erbil, emphasizing the distinctive academic benefits offered by the Media Department. The seminar topics included an overview of media, its importance, conversations about the impacts of social media, and advice on its optimal utilization.

The lectures received a warm welcome from the principals, teachers, and students of the three secondary schools visited. Following the lectures, the administration of Kamayar National School and Kamayar High School expressed gratitude to the Media Department at Cihan University – Erbil for their collaboration and the active involvement of students in organizing and delivering these informative sessions. Plans are in place to continue the series of lectures on media and the effects of social media in the Permam area next week, extending to several other secondary schools.
