The Department of Radiological Imaging Technologies Conducted a Scientific Visit to the Swedish Hospital

On Thursday, April 10, 2025, the Department of Radiological Imaging Technologies at Cihan University-Erbil conducted a scientific visit for first-year students to the Swedish Hospital under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Moan Safaa Ibrahim.

The students were received by Dr. Ahmed Diaa, a supervisor in the Radiology Unit, and Radiology Technician Mr. Karwan Jalal Mohammed, who delivered a detailed presentation on the operations of the radiology department and the advanced imaging equipment used in the hospital. These included X-ray machines, computed tomography (CT) scanners, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems, along with an overview of the radiation safety protocols followed in the clinical environment.

During the visit, students toured the radiology department and observed firsthand how diagnostic imaging procedures are conducted. They gained insight into the practical aspects of operating radiologic equipment and managing real patient cases. The students also participated in interactive discussions with the medical and technical staff, which helped deepen their understanding and connect theoretical knowledge with real-world clinical practice.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Moan Safaa Ibrahim emphasized that such visits are a vital component of the department’s vision to prepare students early in their academic journey by familiarizing them with the professional work environment. This experience contributes to the development of their practical skills and boosts their self-confidence.
