The Department of Radiological Imaging Technologies Organized a Scientific Trip to Zheen International Hospital
On Thursday (October 19th, 2023), the second-stage students from the Radiological Imaging Technologies Department of Cihan University-Erbil, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Noor Sami Omar, held a scientific visit to Zheen International Hospital In Erbil. The primary aim of this visit was to increase student’s knowledge of OPG, DEXA, and Mammography devices.
They were welcomed by a radiographer, Mr. Ghulam Hussein Muhammed. During this scientific visit, the students were divided into groups. They observed the techniques and the basics of Mammography physics, and how the orthopantomogram (OPG) produces a wide panoramic scanning dental x-ray of the upper and lower teeth.
After that, the students went to the DEXA room (dual x-ray absorptiometry) and they observed the principles of measuring bone density by using DEXA. In the end, the students left the hospital excited about the valuable information they gained during the visit.
