The Media Department at Cihan University -Erbil visited the Kurdistan Chronicle
On Thursday, September 25, 2025, a group of third- and fourth-year students from the Media Department at Cihan University–Erbil visited the Kurdistan Chronicle institution in Erbil under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Dlan Ismail.
The students were warmly received by Mr. Botan Tahseen and the institution’s staff. In her remarks, Assistant Lecturer Dlan Ismail expressed gratitude on behalf of Cihan University–Erbil and the Media Department, explaining that the purpose of the visit was to establish connections and facilitate an exchange of academic perspectives between media students and the institution.
During the visit, Assistant Lecturer Dlan Ismail Moloud asked a series of questions regarding the institution’s work mechanisms, objectives, and future plans. The Kurdistan Chronicle officials responded in detail. Mr. Botan Tahseen then provided the students with an overview of the institution’s departments. He explained that the Kurdistan Chronicle was established in 2023 as a specialized media organization focused on presenting and disseminating the culture, thought, and affairs of the Kurdish people to the outside world. This is achieved through its website, podcast, and the Kurdistan Chronicle magazines, published in both English and Arabic in America and Turkey. He also highlighted the weekly newspaper Glkand, which covers the culture, literature, and thought of Erbil city, as well as the design department, Arabic calligraphy department, and several other activities managed by the institution as an independent media organization.
Additionally, Assistant Lecturer Dlan Ismail emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and joint work in the media field between the institution and the Media Department at Cihan University–Erbil. In response, Mr. Botan Tahseen expressed his gratitude to the lecturer and students, affirming that Cihan University has made a significant contribution to the promotion of literature, art, identity, and culture, which he described as a source of pride.
