The Sixth Youth Leadership Forum at the University of Sharjah Continued with the Participation of Cihan University – Erbil Students
The Sixth Youth Leadership Forum continues at the University of Sharjah, bringing together students from various Arab countries, including Taiba Ghazi from the Anesthesia Department and Tabarak Hussein from the Interior Design Department at Cihan University – Erbil.
On the second day, students participated in various cultural and training activities designed to enhance leadership skills and effective communication. These activities provided them with new experiences and valuable skills.
The day began with a tour of the Heritage Handicrafts Exhibition, where each participating country showcased aspects of its culture and national heritage through traditional crafts, clothing, and cuisine. Students engaged enthusiastically with the exhibits, which highlighted the rich cultural diversity of the Arab world. They exchanged stories and knowledge about the customs and traditions of their respective countries, creating a dynamic platform for cultural understanding and fostering connections among youth from different backgrounds. Following the exhibition, students attended two inspiring training sessions focused on leadership and personal development.
The first lecture, “The Impact of Student Societies and Clubs on University Life: Shaping Leadership and Growth,” was delivered by Dr. Eid Kanaan. He discussed the crucial role of student activities in shaping young leaders, emphasizing how these activities enhance teamwork skills and prepare students to face future challenges. The session included success stories of students who established impactful student clubs, motivating attendees to become more active in their own academic environments.
The second lecture, “From Zero to Impossible,” was presented by Professor Dr. Nawar Thabet, Dean of the College of Sciences at the University of Sharjah. He spoke about the power of determination and ambition in achieving extraordinary success. Dr. Nawar shared inspiring stories of renowned figures who rose from humble beginnings to achieve global recognition through perseverance and hard work. The lecture sparked great engagement, as students shared their personal experiences, challenges, and aspirations for the future.
As part of the interactive activities, students embarked on a field tour of the University of Sharjah. They explored the university’s academic system and toured its state-of-the-art facilities, including advanced laboratories and the central library—one of the leading research hubs in the region. This experience provided participants with valuable insights into the university’s educational and research offerings and gave them a firsthand look at a prestigious academic environment.
The second day concluded with a recreational tour of Dubai Mall. Students enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere of the city and visited some of its most iconic landmarks, including Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Fountain Show. This trip allowed participants to strengthen their bonds in a friendly and lively setting while reflecting on their experiences at the forum.
