Translation Department at Cihan University-Erbil Honors the Participants of The International Translation Day
Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, Translation Department at Cihan University-Erbil celebrated the annual anniversary of the International Translation Day with a special ceremony held on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, at the University’s VIP Hall. Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Sattar Abdul Kareem, University’s Vice President for Administrative and Students’ Affairs, honored the students who contributed to the and participated in the workshop held on September 30th, 3025.
The Translation Head of Department delivered a welcoming speech to the University’s Vice President, Heads of English and General Education Departments, faculty members and congratulated the participant students, emphasizing the importance of such commemorations in developing students’ abilities and preparing them for the labor market.
Afterwards, Mr. Vice President for Administrative and Student Affairs praised the efforts of Translation Department in developing students’ capabilities and strengthening their professional and scientific expertise. Dr. Abdul Sattar, then, awarded the participant students with certificates and gifts.
The workshop of September 30, witnessed highly qualified performances by a number of celebrated second, third, and fourth-year students from the Translation and General Education Departments who presented several topics on translation under the supervision of department’s faculty. This occasion also witnessed the honorary attendance of Pro. Ismail Saeed Fahmi, and a representative of Mother Language Center. The event concluded with discussions and debates among attendees and students.
