Translation Department Students Conduct Interactive English Grammar Activities at Cihan International School
Second-stage students Diana Samhar Rafea, Aisha Khalid Karim, and Roaa Asaad Abood from the Department of Translation at Cihan University–Erbil conducted a series of interactive English grammar activities for Grade 11 students at Cihan International School on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. These activities were part of the Morphology course and were carried out under the supervision of the course lecturer, Assistant Lecturer Zeena Mahmood.
Upon arrival, the students were received by the school principal, Mr. Mahmood Imad Mohammed. They then conducted various activities with the students from Mr. Asaad Mehdi Muhyeddin’s classroom, including identifying English grammatical categories, arranging words in the correct order, and analyzing word meanings. These activities highlighted the importance of grammatical knowledge in understanding and using language accurately. Throughout the sessions, Grade 11 students showed strong engagement and enthusiasm, actively taking part in the activities and receiving constructive feedback on their performance.
Overall, the activities fostered collaboration between higher education students and secondary school learners, highlighting the significance of grammatical knowledge in both academic and everyday contexts. Students left with an increased awareness of the important role grammar plays in effective communication.
