Translation Department Students Engaged in Educational Activities During the Visit to Zaytun Library
On Wednesday, February 12, 2025, second-year students from the Department of Translation at Cihan University-Erbil, accompanied by their lecturer, A.L. Zeena Mahmood, visited Zaytun Library as part of their English Narrative course. The purpose of this visit was for students to connect their previously acquired theoretical knowledge with the English narrative sources available in the library.
Upon their arrival, Ms. Naz Falakadin, the library manager, warmly received them and expressed appreciation for their visit. Following that, Ms. Tara, the library supervisor, guided them through the Archive and English sections, where they were introduced to an extensive collection of reading materials in English, ranging from classical to contemporary works.
To reinforce their learning, they were assigned various activities centered on different English narratives they had previously studied, including short stories, comics, and biographies. The activities required critical thinking and creativity, as they worked within a set timeframe to complete the tasks in each section.
After completing the assignments, they engaged in discussions to share and analyze their responses. Their active participation and insightful contributions were commended by A.L. Zeena, who expressed her satisfaction with their enthusiasm and engagement throughout the visit.
This visit provided the students with an enriching experience, allowing them to connect theoretical knowledge with practical exploration beyond the classroom. It was a valuable opportunity to enhance their English narrative skills while deepening their appreciation for literary works.
