Workshop: Digital Workflow in Dentistry
On Monday, April 14, a specialized workshop on Digital Workflow in Dentistry was conducted by A. L. Maryam Fakher Ibrahim and A.L. Bahoz Himdad Majeed in the presence of Dr. Qais Aljumaili, Dean of the College of Dentistry. The workshop focused on the rapidly evolving field of digital workflow in dentistry.
The seminar, which was held in the VIP Hall at Cihan University-Erbil, provided in-depth insights into various aspects of digital dentistry. Key topics included the use of intraoral scanners and their different types, the digital designing of prostheses and restorations using advanced software, and an overview of various computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) machines such as milling systems and 3D printers. The speakers also highlighted the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in modern dental practices, showcasing practical examples of AI integration in digital workflows.
Following the theoretical session, a live demonstration was carried out using a 3D intraoral scanner from the 3Shape system, offering participants a hands-on look at the scanning process of the oral cavity.
The workshop was an enriching experience for attendees, offering both foundational knowledge and practical exposure to cutting-edge technologies in the field of dentistry.
