A Scientific Visit by Accounting Department Students to the National Bank of Iraq: Enhancing Practical Accounting Education

On Sunday, January 25, 2026, the Department of Accounting at Cihan University–Erbil organized a scientific visit for fourth-stage Accounting Department students to the National Bank of Iraq, under the supervision of Dr. Ibrahim Hussein Al-Tadi, a lecturer in the Department of Accounting at Cihan University–Erbil.

The students were warmly received by Mr. Rubel Ibrahim, Branch Manager, and Mrs. Bida Hossam, Assistant Branch Manager. During the visit, bank representatives delivered a comprehensive presentation on the bank’s activities, the services and products it offers, the accounting systems used to record financial transactions, and the control and audit procedures applied in accounting records.

The representatives also provided detailed explanations of the procedures and required documentation for opening various types of personal and commercial current accounts. In addition, they explained the process of opening documentary credits for the import of goods in accordance with current regulations, as well as the procedures for obtaining different types of loans, including car loans, and the methods used for their accounting and control.

At the end of the visit, Dr. Ibrahim Hussein expressed his deep appreciation to the management of the National Bank of Iraq for their warm hospitality and cooperation.
