A scientific visit of fourth stage students from Nutrition Department

Despite the exceptional and abnormal conditions that the world is currently experiencing because of Corona virus pandemic, which has affected most aspects of international universities in terms of implementing some practical activities by students and scientific staff.

For the purpose of providing students with theoretical and practical information and knowledge, Nutrition and Dietetics Department at Cihan University – Erbil organized a scientific visit to Dr. Badr Surji’s herbal clinic and pharmacy complex for the fourth stage students on 22/12/2020. Dr. Badr Surji kindly explained and clarified the stages of preparation and scientific and practical process of having th profession to students.

First, he explained how to obtain legal approvals to organize a work in medicinal herbs. Later, he talked more about his personal experience and the content of his clinic and its pharmacy in terms of herbal preparations and how to deal with cases and clients who receive the service from him. A discussion was also held about the safety of medicinal herbs, dosages, preparation methods and other scientific information.

Dr. Saleh, Head of the Department, and Dr. Qais, Professor of Food Toxicology accompanied the students.
