Department of Communication and Computer Engineering

The Department of Communications and Computers is part of the Faculty of Engineering College in Cihan University. The department is established at 2008.Research in the Department is performed by faculty members and students in diverse areas such as software, wireless communications, antennas, coding, signal processing, hardware design and test, mobile computing, intelligent systems, satellite-engineering, and control systems. The Department offers a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) program in Computer and Communications Engineering (CCE), and plans to offer post graduate studies in the near future.

Committing to quality and excellent education to transform the youth into entrepreneurial, productive, morally upright and socially responsible professionals for a just, humane and progressive society. Providing a variety of high quality programs at undergraduate levels for all specializations and disciplines. Embracing modern concepts in all the services it provides and nurturing research environments with the aim of raising the competence of students to high standards that would enable them toundertake the responsibility of work and interaction with the society at both national and international levels. As an intellectual reserve and stock of knowledge, the department aims at fulfilling the needs of the society and the requirements for development and directing these needs and requirements.

To develop into a leading modern department through provision of internationally recognized education and to participate in the creation of a unified, developed and advanced society. The department of communication and computers aspires to be elevated in the different aspects of knowledge and to link the programs and research it offers with the requirements of permanent development in Kurdistan region and entire country of Iraq. While it maintains its position as a leading national department, it also aspires to occupy a leading international position.

Department of Communication & Computer Engineering have the following objectives:
1.To provide modern educational and research environments that will enable students and researchers to face current challenges and to focus on knowledge as a principle driving force for development.
2.To reach international levels in standards, contents and practices while maintaining local values and culture.
3.To keep up with the development and the new innovations in the different fields of knowledge as well as to take the initiatives in innovation and creativity.
4.To satisfy the increasing demand for excellence in higher education and to ensure the latest quality technology in all its outputs.
5.To comply with the international staff / student ratio.
6.To promote libraries, laboratories and other teaching facilities to the latest technical standards and maintain their position as a place for interaction between the different components of the university.
7.To promote students abilities in dealing with the global developments in communication and computers.
8.To employ information and communication technology to improve the department performance with respect to education, research, capacity building, and skills polishing.
9.To establish a clear research strategy that would define research priorities and channel research activities to serve national purposes, while focusing on applied and advanced educational research to serve the society."
