A Scientific Visit to Wireless Communication Laboratory
On Monday, 26th of April 2021, a scientific visit to the wireless communications laboratory located in department of Communication and Computer Engineering was arranged for second year students of Computer Science department. The main goal of this scientific visit was making students more familiar with wireless communication devices and its technologies.
At the beginning of this scientific visit, which was held under the supervision of Assistant Professor (Dr. Reem Jafar Ismail), some wireless communication devices were introduced to students. During the activity, Assistant Lecturer (Adil Hussein Mohammed) emphasized on the importance of wireless transmission in computer networks. Additionally, he showed different types of wireless antennas to students and explained their technologies and applications in wireless communications.
During this visit, students asked their questions regarding wireless transmission in computer networks, its advantages and disadvantages. All students’ questions were answered by taking real examples of wireless communication applications and possible solutions for overcoming drawbacks of this type of transmission in computer networks.
Focusing on wireless communication technology, which is known as the heart of Internet of Things (IoT), was the main mission of this activity in order to help students to understand the most used types of transmissions in computer networks.
