A Student from the Department of Software Informatics and Engineering Achieves an Advanced Rank in the Huawei Global Competition

On Tuesday, January 6, 2026, Taha Ahmed Abdoun, a student from the Department of Software Informatics and Engineering at Cihan University – Erbil, secured an advanced rank in a competition organized by the Huawei Global Academy, reflecting a remarkable academic accomplishment. This competition is considered one of the most prominent international initiatives aimed at discovering and developing technical and academic skills among students and faculty members in the fields of information and communication technology.

This accomplishment was attained under the direct supervision and follow-up of Dr. Firas Mohammed Zaki, Head of the Department of Software Engineering and Informatics at Cihan University–Erbil, with academic support and participation from Dr. Mardin Abdullah Anwar. The competition, which witnessed wide participation from both local and international universities, culminated in the semi-final round.
