Academic Event on the Optimal Use of Medical Drugs and the Role of Artificial Intelligence in Advancing Pharmaceutical Sciences

On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, students from the College of Pharmacy at Cihan University-Erbil organized a scientific event titled “The Optimal Use of Medical Drugs and the Role of Artificial Intelligence in Advancing Pharmaceutical Sciences.”

The event aimed to enhance academic understanding of techniques for improving patient responses and reducing side effects, while highlighting the benefits of artificial intelligence (AI) in pharmaceutical research and development. The session was attended by Dr. Mohammed Aydin, Dean of the College, along with faculty members and students, and was held in the university’s VIP hall.

The seminar was presented by third-year students Abdullah Younis and Mustafa Sardar. They began with an introductory presentation about the College of Pharmacy, explaining how theoretical knowledge is integrated with practical applications and emphasizing the importance of leveraging faculty expertise to enhance students’ academic and research capabilities in various fields of pharmaceutical sciences.

The presentation explored the role of AI in accelerating drug discovery and reducing research costs. It also highlighted AI’s ability to develop personalized treatment plans by predicting patient responses to medications based on data. The speakers stressed that these applications contribute to improving efficiency, fostering innovation in pharmaceutical research, and enhancing healthcare delivery.

The event concluded with an interactive discussion between students and faculty members, addressing various related aspects. This exchange deepened the academic understanding of the seminar’s topic and expanded the horizons of scientific research in the pharmaceutical field.
