Accounting Department Conducts Scientific Visit to the General Treasury

On Wednesday, 19 November 2025, the Accounting Department at Cihan University–Erbil conducted a scientific visit to the General Treasury of Kurdistan, supervised by Dr. Hashem Mohammed Safi. The students were warmly received by the Director General, Mr. Sarkawt Makhdid Majid.

During the visit, Ms. Ala Farooq Hayne, Head of Accounts, provided the students with a clear and detailed explanation of the General Treasury’s work. She outlined the organizational structure, daily responsibilities, and procedures for disbursing government payments, as well as the methods used to monitor public revenues and expenditures. She also presented a complete practical example of processing an expense, demonstrating each step from submitting the request to recording and tracking the transaction within the accounting and control systems. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on financial and administrative processes.

The visit enabled students to observe how accounting and administrative concepts are applied in real governmental settings. It helped them understand financial procedures firsthand and link their theoretical learning to practical operations within the General Treasury.

At the end of the visit, Dr. Hashem Mohammed Safi expressed his appreciation to the Director General and Ms. Ala Farooq for their warm reception and comprehensive explanations. He emphasized the importance of such field visits in enhancing students’ academic and professional development.
