Accounting Department Students Visit the Board of Supreme Audit in Erbil

On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, the Department of Accounting organized a scientific visit for its second-year students to the Board of Supreme Audit in Erbil, under the supervision of Mr. Rebin Bilal Mohammed.

During the visit, the students were warmly received by the Training and Technical Director, Mr. Mohsen Mohammad Saleh, and the trainer, Mr. Wazer Kamal Saleh. They accompanied the students to the Training and Technical Directorate of the Board, where they provided detailed information about the duties and responsibilities of senior auditors within the organization. The students learned that auditors are responsible for reviewing the financial affairs of all Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) departments after each ministry’s budget is approved by the Audit Office and the Ministry of Finance. They were also informed that, following this approval, the Board of Supreme Audit audits the accounts of every KRG ministry to ensure compliance and transparency.

They later had the honor of meeting the Director General, Mr. Mohammad Mustafa Zarrari, who explained the main methods used to control public revenue and combat corruption across government departments. He described how auditors conduct field inspections, gather evidence, and prepare comprehensive reports for further investigation. At the end of the visit, the students had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss various aspects of auditing.
