Anesthesia Technologies Students Triumph Over Accounting Students with their Skills

On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in the ongoing internal university football league at Cihan University–Erbil, supervised by the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, the teams of Anesthesia Technologies and Accounting students faced off in the second stage.

In a dramatic and thrilling match, the presence of a large and enthusiastic crowd added an exciting atmosphere to the game. Both teams competed fiercely for a spot in the semi-finals.

With the referee’s whistle, both teams launched well-organized attacks on each other’s goals, alternating between the right and left flanks. On several occasions, goalkeepers, defenders, and goalposts prevented the net from shaking. The deadlock was finally broken when the striker of the Anesthesia Technologies team scored the first goal. The crowd erupted, filling the campus with cheers and excitement. However, it did not take long for a powerful strike from the accounting team’s striker to equalize, ending the first half in a 1–1 draw.

The second half began with both teams playing more cautiously and strategically, aware that any mistake could cost them a place in the semi-finals. The Anesthesia Technologies team initially dominated the midfield, launching several consecutive attacks that resulted in their second goal. Nevertheless, the accounting team’s defenders successfully contained the Anesthesia strikers, creating counter-attack opportunities. They capitalized on these chances, scoring the third and fourth goals, and ultimately winning the match 4–1, securing their spot as the first team to advance to the semi-finals.
