Architectural Engineering Department Students’ Visit to Chukar Group Construction Site
On Monday, November 24, 2025, a group of fourth-year students from the Department of Architectural Engineering at Cihan University–Erbil conducted a scientific field visit to the Spanish Village residential project, developed by Chukar Group. The visit was organized under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Lana Shahab Ahmed.
The students were warmly received by the project manager, Mr. Najhat Farhad Ibrahim, who presented an overview of the architectural vision and design principles of the Spanish Village development. He discussed spatial planning, façade treatments, material selection, and the adaptation of Mediterranean-inspired concepts to the project’s context. He also explained how design decisions influence construction methods and the final aesthetic outcome.
The site safety engineer, Mr. Lalo Sartip Mustafa, provided a detailed explanation of on-site safety and security procedures. He emphasized the importance of personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency response plans, controlled site movement, and overall risk management. His explanation helped students understand the safety responsibilities associated with professional architectural and engineering practice.
The visit enabled students to clearly see how architectural concepts become real buildings. They learned about project management, proper material use, teamwork, and the importance of safety in construction.
