Cihan University -Erbil, holds an International Workshop on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

In the past few days and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Amjad Sabir Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, an international workshop titled “AI Ethics, Security and Interactive Education” was held at the Conference Hall of Cihan University-Erbil.

A welcome speech was delivered at the beginning of the workshop, addressed to faculty member, experts and university students. The presentations and discussions were mostly focused on the important ways of using artificial intelligence (AI) was discussed regarding the ethical and security aspects.

As part of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Kamal Bechkoum from the University of Abertay, UK presented a paper titled “AI Ethics and Security.” During his presentation, he emphasized the responsible development of AI, the importance of data confidentiality, the protection of cyber systems from threats, and the need to balance innovation with ethical standards to ensure the development of safe technologies. He provided a fair and balanced perspective, supporting his points with numerous examples.

In another segment of the workshop, Dr. Hassan Fahmi Al-Delawi from Cihan University -Erbil presented a topic titled “Interactive Teaching and Learning in Enhancing Engagement and Academic Achievement with Artificial Intelligence.” He discussed the integration of modernized, AI-powered tools in education and emphasized the importance of creating an interactive learning environment. Such an environment fosters student engagement and promotes deeper scientific and academic discussions, facilitated by the use of artificial intelligence.

At the end of the workshop, participants shared various comments and opinions about the content presented. The event concluded with a discussion session, during which the speakers received the participants’ questions and feedback.
