At the IAU 2023 International Conference, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, Engages in Significant Dialogues

During the second day of the ongoing IAU 2023 International Conference at Qatar University, various panels deliberated on the pivotal role universities play in advancing learning and fostering intercultural dialogue within societies. Notably, experts and university presidents actively participated in these discussions, sharing their perspectives.

     In this regard, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, the President of Cihan University-Erbil, shared Cihan University’s experiences and highlighted the essential steps that universities should take to enhance the spirit of tolerance while promoting the principles of democracy and unity.

     Alongside the conference proceedings, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, conducted several crucial meetings. These included academic discussions with Prof. Dr. Andrew Deeks, President of the International Association of Universities, Prof. Dr. Omar Al-Ansari, President of Qatar University, and the Secretary of the President of the International Association of Universities. During these meetings, he emphasized the importance of organizing such conferences and discussed Cihan University-Erbil’s experience, particularly the diverse religious, ethnic, and sectarian backgrounds of its students. Furthermore, he proudly presented the emblem of Cihan University-Erbil, and they expressed their satisfaction in providing an inclusive environment for students from diverse cultural backgrounds.

     The IAU International Conference is held biennially, and this year’s IAU international conference will continue until November 27, 2023, spanning three days. In addition to panel presentations, the event serves as a platform for fostering deeper academic connections among universities. To facilitate this, numerous high-level scientific meetings are scheduled among university presidents.
