Biomedical Sciences Department Student Explores Saudi Heritage at Ithra During KSAPT 2025
As part of her participation in the 6th International Conference, Workshops, and Exhibition on Pharmacy and Toxicology (KSAPT), which will be held from October 27 to 29, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Sara Hachim Sultan, a fourth-year student from the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Cihan University–Erbil, took part in a cultural visit to the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra). The activity took place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, prior to the official start of the conference.
During their trip, which took place from Saturday, January 25 to 29, 2025, students from Cihan University-Erbil visited the various sections of the museum and art gallery, as well as the center’s diverse interactive exhibits. They gained a close understanding of the rich history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its arts, innovations, and its cultural and educational experiences. Simultaneously, they observed contemporary artworks displayed at the center that discuss the identity and future of the region. A modern library, housing more than half a million books and scientific and cultural resources, served as another stop on this academic journey for the students of Cihan University-Erbil.
Another section of the center is dedicated to cinema, where documentary films, art films, and cultural productions are screened, aiming to disseminate a message of awareness and love for art. Additionally, there is a large art performance hall that hosts musical concerts, theatrical plays, and international conferences.
Ithra Center, located in Dhahran in the Eastern Province, is one of the most prominent cultural landmarks in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is considered a true treasure of knowledge and innovation. This center comprises several unique sections, each offering a different perspective on science, culture, and art, becoming a platform for learning, research, and innovation, and conveying a significant cultural message.
