Biomedical Sciences Students Conduct an Awareness Seminar on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
As part of an ongoing awareness program, second-year Biomedical Sciences students organized an educational seminar on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) at Erbil- Zhyar Private School on Monday, February 3, 2025. The event was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Zarakhan Maaruf Tahir.
Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by Mr. Azad Hamad Abdullah, the school director. The seminar, held in the school hall, was attended by 11th and 12th-grade students. The Biomedical Sciences students provided a comprehensive presentation on PCOS, covering its causes, clinical symptoms, prevention strategies, and treatment options. PCOS is a common hormonal disorder affecting women of reproductive age, characterized by irregular menstrual cycles, elevated androgen levels, and the presence of multiple small ovarian cysts. It is a leading cause of infertility and metabolic complications if left untreated.
At the end of the seminar, the Biomedical Sciences students, on behalf of the Head of the Department, presented Mr. Azad Hamad Abdullah with a certificate of appreciation for his hospitality and support in facilitating the awareness session.
