On Saturday, October 24, 2026, Cihan University–Erbil exchange students currently undertaking an academic term in Poland visited the historic Wawel Royal Castle in Kraków as part of an educational and cultural field trip. The castle is recognized as one of Central Europe’s most prominent historical and architectural landmarks.
During the visit, the students explored various sections of the castle complex and observed its distinctive blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architectural styles.
Situated along the Vistula River, Wawel Castle formerly served as the principal residence of Polish monarchs. The visit provided the students with valuable insights into Polish history, royal heritage, and cultural traditions.
The Cihan University–Erbil delegation comprises Ahmed Mohammed Kamal, a second-stage student in the Department of Medical Microbiology; Naba Hussein Karim, a second-stage student in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics; and Mina Hussein Karim, a fourth-stage student in the Department of Biomedical Sciences.
All three students are currently completing a full academic term at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) in Poland.
The students noted that the exchange program represents an important milestone in broadening their intellectual and scientific perspectives and deepening their understanding of other cultures.
