Biomedical Sciences Students Conduct Scientific Visit to Medical City Laboratory
On Sunday, 1 February 2026, third-stage students (Group B) from the Department of Biomedical Sciences conducted a scientific visit to Medical City Laboratory. The visit was organized under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Hero Ismael Mohammed.
Upon arrival, the students were received by Mr. Rasul Haji Salih, the laboratory supervisor, who delivered a comprehensive field presentation on the operation of advanced medical laboratories. He emphasized the critical importance of equipment calibration and Quality Control (QC) systems as the two fundamental pillars for ensuring accurate and error-free results.
The visit provided students with hands-on exposure to the operational mechanisms of modern medical devices, particularly the Snibe Maglumi X3, an advanced immunoassay system, as well as various hematology analyzers. In addition, Mr. Rasul offered detailed technical explanations on the installation and programming of new diagnostic kits, highlighting best practices for achieving high accuracy and reliability in disease detection. This experience deepened students’ understanding of the integration between biochemical reactions and digital laboratory technologies.
At the end of the visit, Assistant Lecturer Hero Ismael Mohammed, on behalf of the Department of Biomedical Sciences, expressed her sincere appreciation to the laboratory supervisor and staff for providing this valuable scientific experience and for their continued support of the students.
