Biomedical Sciences Students Gain Industrial Insight at Alen Factory
Third-stage students from the Biomedical Sciences Department at Cihan University–Erbil conducted a scientific field visit to Alen Factory on Monday, 17 November 2025. The visit was organized under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Hero Ismael Mohammed and Assistant Lecturer Bakhtawar Ziad Omer.
Upon arrival, the students were warmly received by Mr. Mustafa Jamal Mohammed, Logistics and Warehouses Supervisor, and Mrs. Nigar Othman Omer, HR Assistant. Mr. Mustafa provided an introductory briefing on the factory’s operations, emphasizing its role as a leading food and beverage manufacturer in Erbil. He highlighted that the factory produces more than 700 items, including spices, sauces, desserts, and various coffee products.
During the session, the students learned about the factory’s systematic process for receiving raw materials and the procedures carried out in the laboratory and quality control units. They were introduced to essential microbiological, chemical, and physical tests that ensure product safety and quality before processing.
The visit continued with a guided tour of key sections of the facility, including storage areas, packaging and processing units, and the showroom. This experience provided students with valuable exposure to industrial production lines and real-world quality assurance practices relevant to their field of study.
At the end of the visit, Assistant Lecturer Hero Ismael Mohammed expressed sincere appreciation to the administration and staff of Alen Factory particularly Mr. Mustafa Jamal Mohammed and Mrs. Nigar Othman Omer for their warm hospitality, clear explanations, and meaningful support in enriching the students’ scientific understanding.
