Biomedical Sciences Students Participate in First Ramadan Festival at Erbil Street Bazaar
On Monday, February 23, 2026, under the supervision of the Head of the Department, a group of third- and fourth-stage students from the Biomedical Sciences Department actively participated in the first day of the First Ramadan Festival at Erbil Street Bazaar, which officially commenced on the same day.
The festival began with an opening ceremony attended by Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil; Dr. Nawzad Yahya Bajger, Head of the Board of Trustees of Cihan University – Erbil; and Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University – Erbil.
The Ramadan Festival aims to create job opportunities for traders while fostering a welcoming family atmosphere in celebration of the holy month of Ramadan. The event runs from February 23 to March 19, 2026.
As part of the festival’s community engagement activities, Biomedical Sciences students organized a free health screening campaign for visitors. During the festival, they conducted blood glucose tests, measured blood pressure, determined blood groups, and performed body mass index (BMI) analyses.
During the activity, students also explained the test results to participants and provided health guidance on safe fasting practices and maintaining well-being throughout the month of Ramadan. The initiative highlighted the department’s commitment to community service and the practical application of students’ academic knowledge in real-world settings.
