Biomedical Sciences Students Visit Erbil International Hospital Laboratory

A group of third-stage students (Group A) from the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Cihan University–Erbil conducted an academic visit to the Laboratory Department of Erbil International Hospital on Sunday, 1 February 2026. The visit was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Hero Ismael Mohammed.

The students were warmly received by Dr. Casper Ismael Abdullah, Head of the Laboratory Department, who delivered a comprehensive overview of the administrative and technical frameworks of modern medical laboratories. The tour familiarized students with patient reception protocols and standardized procedures for sample collection, handling, and classification, all of which ensure high standards of quality and accuracy. In addition, students were introduced to advanced technologies used in complex biochemical analyses, illustrating how laboratory data are transformed into accurate diagnostic results that support clinical decision-making and patient care. This interactive session provided a valuable opportunity for students to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world laboratory practice in one of the region’s most advanced medical facilities.

At the end of the visit, Assistant Lecturer Hero Ismael Mohammed expressed her sincere appreciation to the management and laboratory staff of Erbil International Hospital. She commended their commitment to supporting students’ academic development and strengthening collaboration between academic institutions and the healthcare sector in preparing future medical professionals.
