Business Administration Department Students Conducted a Scientific Visit to Korek Company
On Thursday, February 27, 2025, a group of fourth-year students from the Business Administration Department at Cihan University – Erbil conducted an academic visit to Korek Company in Erbil under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Qusay Hameed Al-Salami.
The students were warmly received by Mr. Aram Mahmood Khedr, Director of Learning and Development at Korek.
The visit began with a guided tour of the HR department, where Mr. Aram provided an overview of the company’s operations. In the training and development hall, he delivered a comprehensive lecture on the role, objectives, and strategies of the HR department in employee recruitment and development.
A key discussion point was resuming preparation for recent graduates, highlighting essential components to include or avoid. The session also covered topics such as salary structures, successful interview techniques, appropriate professional attire, effective communication skills, and the strengths and weaknesses of job applicants. Mr. Aram emphasized the importance of building a strong resume before graduation, supported by relevant training programs and volunteer work.
The discussion concluded with inquiries about the challenges currently faced by Korek, particularly concerning internet service disruptions and strategies for overcoming them. Additionally, the company’s plans for expanding services to new target areas were explored.
This visit provided students with valuable hands-on experience in HR functions. Dr. Qusay Al-Salami highlighted how theoretical concepts from courses such as Project Management (third year) and Business Simulation (fourth year) were practically demonstrated during the visit. This experience enabled students to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world applications, significantly enriching their education.
