Business Administration Department Students Visit the Kurdistan Satellite Corporation

On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, a group of students from the Business Administration Department at Cihan University–Erbil conducted an academic visit to the Kurdistan Satellite Corporation in Erbil. This academic visit was conducted to familiarize students with media operations in the Kurdistan Region.

The visit was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Hevi Muhammad Qadir. Upon arrival, the students were warmly received by Ms. Hayfa Saleh Qadir from the Communications Department, who then guided them through the corporation. During the visit, Mr. Ismail Taha Taher, Director of the Studio, provided detailed information about the corporation’s activities and media operations.

The visit began with a tour of the studio section, where students were introduced to the processes of news production and preparation. It was explained that the news presenter typically uses two microphones, while guests use one. Various types of news were also discussed, including political, economic, sports, and health news at both national and international levels.

Subsequently, the students visited the control section, where they received comprehensive explanations about its functions. Mr. Ismail also explained the role of the Camera Control Unit (CCU), which is responsible for adjusting studio lighting according to broadcast requirements.

In addition, Mr. Khalil, Director and Presenter of the Sports News Section, highlighted the importance of technical methods in news presentation. He emphasized that presenters should actively engage viewers during broadcasts rather than merely read the news.

At the end of the visit, the students expressed their satisfaction with the knowledge they gained regarding media management, news preparation, and presentation. The supervising lecturer extended sincere thanks to the staff of the Kurdistan Satellite Corporation for providing the students with this valuable learning opportunity.
