On February 19, 2024, students from the Business Administration Department at Cihan University-Erbil visited the Kurdistan Parliament-Iraq under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Hevi Mohammed Qadir.
They were warmly received by Mr. Dildar Aziz and Mr. Omar Kamil Ahmad from the Protocol Department. Mr. Dildar Aziz provided an insightful explanation of the legislative process, focusing on how laws are created, how the government exercises oversight, and how salaries are determined. He also discussed the role of the 19 parliamentary committees, each responsible for a specific sector of governance.
The students then toured the Parliament Library, where Mr. Mohammed Tahr Biran, the Director of the Library, introduced various books on administration, economics, and law and distributed copies of the Draft Constitution of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. They also visited the auditorium, where they had the opportunity to ask questions, which parliamentary staff answered.
This visit provided valuable insights into the relationship between governance and business administration, enhancing students’ understanding of economic policies and decision-making processes.
