Cihan University-Erbil and AGH University Establish Strategic Partnership to Advance Robotics and AI Infrastructure

Under the auspices of the Kurdistan Region Government Ministry of Higher Education’s mission to Poland, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, met with Professor Jerzy Lis, Rector of the AGH University of Krakow for Technology, to outline a broad framework for cooperation in advanced technology.
The discussions prioritized academic mobility, with particular emphasis on enabling Cihan University-Erbil graduates to enroll in Master’s and PhD programs in Mechanics, Robotics, and Software Engineering at AGH University of Krakow. Both parties also committed to activating Erasmus+ exchange programs and the Visiting Professor initiative. Professor Dr. Amjad further announced plans to establish dual-degree programs in Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics, enabling students to earn qualifications from both institutions. Additionally, joint research groups will be established to conduct high-impact research in advanced technology.
The meeting concluded with an official invitation for the AGH leadership to visit Cihan University-Erbil in March. Following the discussions, Professor Dr. Amjad toured AGH’s robotics laboratories. During the visit, he reached an agreement with Associate Professor Dr. Jarosław Konieczny to establish two advanced robotics laboratories at Cihan University-Erbil. Under the preliminary agreement, AGH experts will visit the Kurdistan Region to oversee the installation and operationalization of the laboratories in accordance with international standards.
